The program begins in early July with a new
gateway seminar that introduces students to
the study of public diplomacy and
communications. For the fall and spring
semesters, students will combine coursework
in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public
Communications with coursework in the
Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public
Affairs.
The following summer, students complete an
off-campus experience in Washington, DC,
Geneva, Vienna, or Strasbourg. These credits
count towards one of the two required career
tracks for the International Relations
program.
Students finish the program during the
second spring semester with work in
Washington, DC, at Syracuse University's
Paul Greenberg House. In addition to a
required internship, two special seminars
are offered addressing issues in public
diplomacy and public communication.
